TANYA BENZAQUEN
Wardrobe Organizer & Consultant, Personal Image Coach Pairing red lipstick with a bright pink blazer was a natural choice for a redhead who refused to follow any "redhead fashion rules." With her innate sense of style and unique sensibility, redhead-born Tanya has helped countless clients RESTYLE and streamline their overflowing closets and lives. Whether it's shopping in your very own closet for fresh new outfit ideas, advising on a travel capsule wardrobe to take on your next trip, or helping someone refresh their dating mindset and style, people have been relying on Tanya for style advice since the beginning of her career as a couture hat designer. Fast forward 20+ years in the fashion industry, this redhead has realized her soul purpose and is restyling and coaching clients full time...and loving every second. Equal parts American, European, and Hispanic, Tanya was born in England and raised in South America and the U.S. She earned her B.A. in Psychology in New York City, where she simultaneously studied Millinery (Hat Design) at the Fashion Institute of Technology. After completing her studies Tanya launched Hats by Tanya, a couture collection of handmade one-of-a-kind hats and headpieces which sold at top NYC retailers including Henri Bendel and The Hat Shop. Tanya's colorful designs were featured in Seattle Magazine, GenLux Magazine, and The Hat Magazine UK. Tanya still designs and creates custom headpieces for private clients under her label The Hat Block. (A small collection of hats and headpieces are readily available for purchase on our Hats & Headpieces tab found under the Redhead Edit page.) Tanya also earned her Fashion Design degree and worked at Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week with Barbara Berman's Backstage team, wardrobe assisting and preparing the looks for a long list of designers including Oscar de la Renta, Carolina Herrera, Helmut Lang, Jason Wu, Marchesa, Zac Posen, Hugo Boss, and Project Runway. Tanya worked with Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade Costume Crew in NYC, and embarked on four adventurous months in Paris where she interned at the Diane von Furstenberg and Mary Katrantzou showrooms. She also fulfilled a personal dream of working backstage at Paris Fashion Week. Tanya keeps her styling and consulting expertise sharp by enrolling in continuing education courses for Image Consulting and Fashion Styling at NYC's Fashion Institute of Technology. When it comes to wardrobe and personal image coaching, Tanya is steadfast in her quest to help people look and feel their best. She finds total joy in helping clients maximize what they already have, and elevating their style with refreshing new upgrades. Tanya's philosophy is all about building confidence through fashion, wearing what makes you feel like a boss, and becoming your own biggest cheerleader. |
